Analyst / Associate

Description & Responsibilities:

Analysts and Associates are key members of the investment team and work closely with Partners, Principals and Vice Presidents to proactively identify attractive technology sectors and evaluate potential opportunities that fit our investment criteria. You will be exposed to a variety of technology sectors by leading research efforts and deal execution. You will learn how to identify interesting investment opportunities, both through targeted outreach to companies and analysis of available market-level data.

Analysts and Associates are also an integral part of live deal teams and actively participate in all aspects of the investment process across due diligence, deal execution and portfolio company management. Guidepost Growth Equity Analysts and Associates will get experience creating investment theses from the ground up, building strong relationships with senior executives of industry-leading companies, and producing investment analyses for presentation to the investment committee.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of banking and/or private equity experience
  • Personal motivation with demonstrated success working within a team
  • Strong organizational skills and track record of achieving goals with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated interest in the investment field and technology sector
  • Verification of right to work in the U.S.

Summer Analyst

Description & Responsibilities:

Summer Analysts are key members of the investment team and work closely with full-time investment professionals to proactively identify attractive technology sectors and evaluate potential opportunities that fit our investment criteria. Summer Analysts’ core focus will be sourcing interesting opportunities, both through targeted outreach to companies and analysis of available research and market-level data. Summer Analysts will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of industries by supporting researching efforts. Summer Analysts will be responsible for deal generation, supporting the investment team’s efforts to build relationships with senior executives of industry-leading companies and producing analyses of industry segments for presentation to the investment committee. Summer Analysts may also have the opportunity to support live deal teams and participate in the investment process from due diligence to deal execution.

Qualifications:

  • Expected graduation in Spring 2027
  • Personal motivation with demonstrated success working within a team
  • Strong organizational skills and track record of achieving goals with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated interest in the investment field and technology sector
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 at a top-tier college/university with strong SAT and/or ACT scores
  • Verification of right to work in the U.S.

Community Outreach

The Guidepost team volunteers throughout the year to support Boston area non-profits making a difference in our local community. We have prepared and served meals at a woman’s shelter, organized donated items for distribution to children and families, and assembled food packages for delivery. We continue to develop new non-profit relationships through additional community outreach.
